Disaster Preparedness Training

CitiIMPACT Ministries Disaster Training; Preparedness and Response

No one ever thinks that a disaster is going to hit their town, their home, or their church.  Well, we can let you talk to hundreds of people who thought that too . .  and wished they hadn't!   Following a disaster many people have the desire to help but few know what really needs to be done or how best to accomplish it.  Often times well meaning folks create bigger problems. If people are trained and have a plan made ahead of time, things would go so much smoother.

CitiIMPACT can design a training around the needs of your church, community, or network.  We've found that the more people who are involved the more comprehensive and unified the plan will be, thus the most effective at helping people.  No one group or church or government agency can meet all the needs of a community in a large scale disaster.  Yet, there is no disputing that "THE CHURCH" has made the biggest real impact on helping people get back on their feet after the major disasters of the last decade.  Government agencies are strapped for cash and often look to the faith based groups.

CitiIMPACT will walk you through:

  1. Why the Church should be involved in disaster ministry?
  2. Where do we start?
  3. What do we do if a disaster hits our community?
  4. How can we be prepared?
  5. Who are the players and what will their roles be?

The training can cover any or all of the following (costs are subject to how intense, numbers involved, and if certification is desired):

  • How to set up a command center, distribution center, volunteer center in partnership with CitiIMPACT
  • Terminology, acronyms, and concepts associated with a disaster.
